Oldest original home in Americus, This Greek Revival raised cottage was built in 1833 for James Peter Guerry, a judge and state representative. The house contains 8 rooms, with center halls and features 12 fireplaces, the floors and glass are original. An outside staircase leads to the upstairs, and the exterior features early Victorian jig-sawn porch work. Fourteen artesian wells are on the property, which originally was Springhill Plantation. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the house is the oldest original home in Americus
